In mobile first India, 87% Internet connections are wireless

[unable to retrieve full-text content]Almost 87 percent of all Internet connections in India are from a wireless connection, the latest report from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India indicates. Of the 164.81 million Internet subscriptions in the country, 143.2 million were wireless Internet subscriptions at the end of March 2013, according to the report. There are 13 ISPs that provide wireless Internet services and Bharti Airtel leads the pack with approximately 39.5 million data subscriptions or 27.58 percent market share. Vodafone follows closely with 34.4 million Internet subscriptions or 24 percent market share followed by Idea at 25.5 million subscriptions or 17.8 percent market share.
