WIRELESS INTERNET PROBLEMS

I used to live in Dayton, Ohio, a descent sized city. And when I lived there I had cable t.v. which is what I ran my internet service through and it worked just fine. I have recently moved to a small town about thirty miles north of Dayton that gos by the name of Casstown.
Now Casstown is pretty much in the middle of no where. The closest "big towns" would be Huber Heights and Troy, both about fifteen miles from where I live.

Well, Casstown doesn't have cable t.v., the only thing we have out here to get multiple channels on t.v. is satellite. So that meant I had to switch to wireless internet for my internet service.
So, I go to my local wireless store (if you call fifteen miles local) and ask about there wireless service. Now, I'm not going to mention the name of the service I'm using (and not using for much longer), but lets just say that it's what you here at night in the summer time when everything gets real quiet. So, being the computer dummy that I am, (I don't know much about this stuff), I tell the lady my situation and what I need. She proceeds to tell me about their service and how good it works. She also tells me that "this service will work all over the state of Ohio with no problems." I say "great", I'll take it."

So I make the fifteen mile trek back home and get everything hooked up. Well I now have internet service, if that's what you want to call it. This thing is not much faster then dial up...when it works! It's constantly losing it's signal and I have to move the wireless modem from one ubs port to another to try and get it to work (yes, believe it or not, sometimes that works).
I can almost get it not working out here in the sticks, but the lady should not have told me that it would before I bought it. But it gets better. I recently had to take a trip to Cleveland, Ohio with my brother and I took my computer along with me to do some work. My brother drove, and from Casstown you have to go through Columbus on the way to Cleveland. So while passing through Columbus, I decide to pull my computer out to do some work, and low and behold...NO SIGNAL! And when we get to Cleveland...NO SIGNAL! These are the two biggest cities in the state of Ohio and still...NO SIGNAL! Fortunately, the hotel we stayed in had WiFi. My wireless internet problems continue.

So now I can't wait to get back home to once again, drive another thirty mile round trip because I am "still" having problems with this thing. This time when I show up and tell them the out of town story, they mention I might want to spend an additional fifteen to twenty dollars on a antenna for the "wireless modem." WHAT?...Was my response. I'm already paying forty-three dollars a month for a service that only works a small percentage of the time, and when it does it's slower than dial up, and now you want me to go out and spend an additional twenty bucks on something you say might or might not work.

I'm making a switch at the end of the month to something else. I can't believe there could be something worse than what I'm already using. Whatever I switch to has to be better...Right?
I think the company that I'm talking about, got their name because that's all you here when you use their service. I have had nothing but wireless internet problems with this company from day one.
