First photos of BlackBerry Messenger for Android surface online

Earlier this year, BlackBerry announced that it would be bringing its popular social messaging appBlackBerry Messenger (BBM)to Android and iOS. Though it has been quiet since then, reports have claimed that a September release could be in the cards. Our sister publication, BGR Classic, in the meantime has posted the first photo of BBM running on an Android smartphone.

The above photo shows the login screen of BBM running on a Samsung Galaxy S III. They couldnt post any further photos of the app since it had identifying marks, but they do confirm that app looks and functions quite well on Android.

They also confirm that the app will be released in the coming weeks on both Android and iOS devices. Officially, BlackBerry insists BBM would be launched on Android and iOS towards the end of summer.
